Lake Petenwell lies between Adams County and Juneau County and on the south side of Wood County in South Central Wisconsin. There are over 140,000 acres of public hunting grounds within 10 minutes of Lake Petenwell and miles of ATV and snowmobile trails. Many of the town roads are also ATV & snowmobile friendly meaning in many cases you can ride right from your home.

Ho-Chunk Gaming has a casino in Nekoosa on the west side of the lake where they have a wonderful restaurant, hundreds of slot machines and numerous table games. From beginners to high rollers, Ho-Chunk Gaming will make you feel at home. On the east side of the lake is the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association's world class shooting complex in the town of Rome. Several championship golf courses lie within the Lake Petenwell vicinity including Sand Valley, Lake Arrowhead, and Northern Bay.
